Beef + Broccoli Jiaozi (DUMPLINGS)

The Year of The Tiger is known as a time for boldness and courage. A time to stay sharp and creative.

Little Brother co-founder Richard Lee says, "when my grandmother and her family came to the U.S. and settled in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, she didn't have access to Chinese ingredients that had the more assertive flavors she was looking for. Without Chinese herbs and vegetables, my NaiNai had to improvise. After some experimentation, NaiNai found that American broccoli excellently mimicked the strong vegetal fragrance of more pungent Chinese produce, and she would often make jiaozi with American broccoli. In honor of NaiNai’s inspired culinary problem solving and the search for big flavors, we too are making jiaozi with broccoli!”

For the courageous ones out there! For the curious ones out there! For the adaptive spirits out there planning big things this year! We present to you a beef + broccoli jiaozi! Rich, savory beef + oyster sauce paired with bright, deliciously toothsome broccoli, all wrapped in a handmade dumpling noodle flecked with gochugaru (fruity Korean chili flakes).

Enjoy these jiaozi on their own, with a big spoonful of Little Brother la jiao jiang (chili crisp hot sauce), and/or a dash of apple cider vinegar.
